He is the Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, a conglomerate with interests in telecommunications, satellite communications, digital infrastructure, financial services, real estate, and hospitality. Its flagship company, Bharti Airtel, operates in 17 countries across India, South Asia and Africa and is the world's second-largest mobile operator by subscriber base. In 2024, Bharti Airtel became the first Indian company of its generation to reach a market capitalisation of US$100 billion.
